Sugar Rush – Pragmatic Play’s candy cluster slot in the UK

Gummy bears, jelly beans and a 7×7 grid where every win leaves a mark. Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush pays in clusters, tumbles new sweets in, and turns busy squares into multipliers that double all the way to 128x. In free spins they stick around.

Build a multiplier spot

Tap a square each time a winning sweet bursts there. See how it is marked, then doubles.

Highest spot: none All spots added: 0x

Base game: spots reset after every spin.

You decide where wins land here; in the game, clusters and tumbles are random.

Where to play Sugar Rush for real money

Clusters and tumbles

Sugar Rush has no paylines. A win needs at least five identical sweets joined edge to edge, across or down; diagonals do not count. Bigger clusters pay more, up to a top band for 15 or more.

After each win the cluster bursts and the sweets above drop down, with new ones falling in from the top. That is a tumble, and it repeats for as long as new clusters keep forming, all on the same paid spin. About a third of spins win something.

How the multiplier spots grow

The first time a winning sweet bursts on a square, that square is marked. The second time, it becomes a 2x multiplier. From then on every win on it doubles the value:

  1. mark
  2. 2x
  3. 4x
  4. 8x
  5. 16x
  6. 32x
  7. 64x
  8. 128x

It takes eight wins on the same square to reach 128x. When a cluster sits over several spots, their values are added together rather than multiplied, and the total is applied to that cluster’s win.

In the base game all spots clear when the tumbles stop. In free spins they stay for the entire round, so a grid that is already covered in 32x and 64x squares late in the bonus is where Sugar Rush pays its biggest prizes.

Free spins

Scatters can land anywhere on the grid. Three or more start the bonus, and the number of spins rises steeply with each extra scatter:

ScattersAward
3 scatters10 free spins
4 scatters12 free spins
5 scatters15 free spins
6 scatters20 free spins
7 scatters30 free spins

The same table applies to retriggers during the round, with no upper limit. Independent testing puts the trigger rate at about once every 320 spins, so the bonus can take a while.

Paytable

Wins as multiples of your total stake, for the smallest cluster of five and the largest band of 15 or more.

Payback, risk and the 5,000x ceiling

The standard RTP is 96.50%, with 95.50% and 94.50% versions available to casinos. Volatility is high. Base-game wins are frequent but small; the game’s value is concentrated in free spins where multiplier spots can build up.

The maximum win is 5,000x your stake. A win of 1,000x or more comes along roughly once in 38,000 spins, and the full 5,000x about once in 2.3 million.

Sugar Rush under British rules

  • Stakes run from 20p to £5 a spin; players aged 18 to 24 can bet up to £2.
  • The 100x bonus buy offered elsewhere is not available in the UK.
  • There is no autoplay or turbo mode, and each spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds.
  • Casinos confirm your age before you can open the game or its demo.
  • Wagering on bonuses is capped at 10x, and GamStop covers every UK-licensed site.

Getting to know it in demo mode

Because free spins are relatively rare, a demo session needs a few hundred spins to show a bonus. Use it to see how quickly spots build in the base game, how often a tumble chain runs past two or three steps, and how a free spins round develops once squares stop clearing.

On a phone

The square 7×7 grid suits a phone well. Sugar Rush switches to a portrait layout, with the grid filling the width of the screen and the spin button underneath. It runs in any modern mobile browser.

Other Sugar Rush games

  • Sugar Rush Xmas: a festive version with the same maths, 96.50% RTP and 5,000x top win.
  • Sugar Rush 1000: spots climb to 1,024x and the top win rises to 25,000x, with even higher volatility.
  • Sugar Rush Super Scatter: a 2026 release with a top prize of 50,000x.

Before your first spin

  1. Join a UK-licensed casino from the list.
  2. Complete age verification.
  3. Open Sugar Rush and check the RTP in the information screen.
  4. Play the demo to see how spots behave.
  5. Pick a stake that leaves room for a long wait between bonuses.

Sugar Rush FAQ

When was Sugar Rush released?

Pragmatic Play launched Sugar Rush on 30 June 2022. It has since been followed by a Christmas edition, Sugar Rush 1000 and Sugar Rush Super Scatter.

How do wins work in Sugar Rush?

There are no paylines. Five or more matching sweets touching each other horizontally or vertically form a cluster and pay. Winning sweets then burst and new ones tumble in, which can create further wins on the same spin.

What are multiplier spots?

When a winning sweet bursts, its square on the grid is marked. A second win on that square turns it into a 2x multiplier, and every further win there doubles it, up to 128x. If a cluster covers several spots, their values are added together.

Do the multiplier spots stay?

In the base game they clear once the tumbles on that spin are finished. In free spins they stay put for the whole round, which is where the big wins come from.

How many free spins does each scatter count give?

Three scatters give 10 free spins, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and seven give 30. Landing scatters again during the round adds the same number of spins.

How much does Sugar Rush return to players?

The standard version pays back 96.50%. Pragmatic Play also offers 95.50% and 94.50% versions, so check the figure in the game rules at your casino.

Is there a cap on what one spin can pay?

5,000x your stake. Figures of 25,000x belong to Sugar Rush 1000, a later and more volatile version.

Is the feature buy available in Britain?

No. The 100x feature buy is not available to British players, and neither are autoplay or turbo spins.

Stay in control

High-volatility slots can take a long time to pay. Set limits on deposits and session length, take regular breaks, and stop if playing stops being fun.

The National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, is free and open 24 hours a day. GamCare and BeGambleAware provide advice and support, and GamStop lets you block all UK-licensed gambling sites at once.
